Matt Friedeman

Professor of Evangelism & Discipleship, Wesley Biblical Seminary

He and Mary have been married since 1984 and have six children – Caleb, Joshua, Elijah, Hannah, Ezekiel, and Isaiah. Matt grew up in Great Bend, Kansas and attended the University of Kansas on a track and field scholarship. He later attended Asbury Seminary and served with the Barnabas Foundation (a discipleship ministry) and served on staff there. Later, he received a Ph.D. in education from University of Kansas, before traveling to Mississippi where he has served as professor at Wesley Biblical Seminary since 1987. He has written five books (plus a DVD) and a children’s catechism.

In addition to WBS, Matt is the founding pastor of DaySpring Community Church in Clinton, he has a radio talk show broadcast daily on American Family Radio and is also a contributing columnist for the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. He participates weekly in prison and pro-life ministries, and he also enjoys weightlifting, blogging, and reading.
